If there was no effort needed we would all be making thousands of dollars playing poker. I can't wait to read more content from Mike Turner! Don't get me wrong, you won't become a professional poker player and able to quit your job after 3 weeks just by listening to these books. Volume 1 is a general strategy book, whereas Volume 2 focuses on heads-up play. Finally, an author breaking down content that applies to the rest of us! not just basics but many strategies on hands, examples, and money management. I'd say the books are perfect for beginners as they assume little prior knowledge. I was surprised at how thorough the information was and how the content being covered progressed so seamlessly from the fundamentals of poker onto intermediate and more advanced play. great resource!

This is such a comprehensive book! The two books really complement one another and share the same ideas. Sit and go you're starting from the bottom and are looking to move up through the stakes, or click you are an intermediate player looking for a great refresher or to reinforce and add to the knowledge you already have then I recommend sit and go read this book.

Intermediate and Advanced players: if you have some hours to spare I can recommend listening to this series as well. this is how the professionals do It! That being said, it's not "too advanced" that the concepts become dry and academic and it's not too advanced that it no longer applies to the stakes this book focuses on Low Stakes. I enjoyed listening to the audiobooks and was able to learn some new strategies and insights. The style of narration is pleasant, the book is read, but conversational enough to keep you sharp. You have to practice practice practice, it takes serious determination. This book is like a survivors guide to Low Stakes poker and a conquerors guide in one! to sit and go Texas Hol 'em poker play.
